Produced by Tiempo Company and Espacio in collaboration with Arizona State University, Truth Across Borders brought together two icons of journalism, Marty Baron and Jorge Ramos, for a bold, bilingual conversation on media, democracy, and polarization. Moderated by Javier Marin, the event created space for honest, necessary dialogue that transcended language, culture, and borders.

The Event

Produced by Tiempo Company and Espacio in collaboration with Arizona State University, Truth Across Borders brought together two icons of journalism, Marty Baron and Jorge Ramos, for a bold, bilingual conversation on media, democracy, and polarization. Moderated by Javier Marin, the event created space for honest, necessary dialogue that transcended language, culture, and borders.

The Goal

We set out to design more than a stage: we wanted to create an experience. From branding and ambiance to messaging and video, every touchpoint was crafted to elevate the conversation while reflecting Espacio’s creative ethos: intentional, immersive, inclusive. Our goal was to position Tiempo as a convener of urgent media dialogue, and Espacio as a studio capable of turning conversation into cultural impact.

The Insight

“I believe we have two main responsibilities: to report reality as it is, and to challenge those in power.”

Jorge Ramos

In a time of disinformation and deep distrust, Truth Across Borders gave shape to something rare: a conversation grounded in integrity, lived experience, and access. It opened a space where bilingual, immigrant, and student audiences, often sidelined in national media circles, could see themselves reflected and invited into journalism’s future.

The Execution

“I’m not an activist. I’m a journalist. And that means asking the questions people need answered.”

Marty Baron

Espacio led the full creative and production strategy for the event. We crafted its visual identity, produced a bilingual website, and built anticipation with a cinematic teaser. We designed a space that fostered clarity and intimacy, even in a university auditorium, ensuring every detail, from signage to lighting, served the message. Our direction made bilingual accessibility feel natural and intentional, not secondary.

The Outcome

Truth Across Borders didn’t just raise questions: it sparked connection. Audiences walked away with a deeper understanding of journalism’s role in democracy, and Espacio proved its ability to make high-stakes conversations feel personal, urgent, and human.
